On 26 March 2025, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP), in partnership with SME Connect and SDCM, organised a high-level roundtable at the European Parliament titled “Securing the Competitiveness of the EU Automotive Industry – Technological Neutrality and Data Access in the Driveseat.” Hosted by MEP Elżbieta Łukacijewska, the event brought together EU lawmakers, industry stakeholders, and technology experts to explore key policy and regulatory priorities for the automotive sector.

The conversation addressed the importance of preserving technological neutrality in upcoming EU legislation, ensuring fair and secure access to vehicle-generated data, and advancing investments in infrastructure to support the rollout of electric and smart mobility systems. Additional topics included the need for robust cybersecurity standards, diversified supply chains, and a supportive industrial framework to maintain Europe’s leadership in the global automotive market.

Speakers also emphasised Poland’s growing position in the EU’s battery value chain and its role in driving forward innovation in low-emission transport, underlining the country’s contribution to achieving EU climate goals while safeguarding the resilience of European industry.
