Informal meeting of defence ministers

The informal Foreign Affairs Council with ministers of defence will focus on bringing about the rearmament of Europe and strengthening its defence industry in the current security situation. The ministers will also discuss continued support for Ukraine, and what role the European Union can play in ensuring a just and lasting peace. Other topics will include the broader geopolitical situation and conflicts in the Middle East.

The role of trade unions in improving productivity

In the light of the political developments following the Letta and Draghi reports’ recommendations, the Workers’ Group is holding a debate on the issue of industrial productivity. The aim is to analyse, with the help of economic experts from academia and trade unions, different drivers of productivity growth, focusing also on the human side of productivity and factors that affect it such as wages and new technologies, particularly AI.
