In the context of the European Semester, the Council will hold a policy debate on ways to mitigate labour and skills shortages as a result of population ageing, or the ‘silver transformation’, by addressing the barriers that prevent older people from staying in or rejoining the workforce. The Council will also be invited to approve the contribution on the employment and social aspects of the 2025 recommendation on the economic policy of the euro area.

Informal meeting of the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the EU
The main focus of the meeting will be on EU enlargement policy, its tools and new initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of reforms in candidate countries. The informal meeting will focus on analysing Ukraine’s progress in alignment with the Fundamental Rights cluster and the bilateral support provided by member states to candidate countries.
