Agenda

On 24 June 2025, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP), together with the European Enterprise Alliance (EEA), organized a seminar at the European Parliament titled “Transforming Work: Skills in an Automated and Augmented Environment.” The event, hosted by MEP Andrzej Buła, explored the shifting dynamics of the European labour market in response to rapid technological advancement.

The discussion focused on how the adoption of artificial intelligence, automation, and data-centric technologies is transforming workforce structures, altering job profiles, and redefining skills requirements across sectors. Key areas of debate included the development of an EU-wide approach to lifelong learning, mechanisms to address skills mismatches, and practical support for companies—particularly SMEs—navigating the digital transition.

Speakers stressed the urgency of adapting education and vocational training systems to reflect emerging labour market needs, while also ensuring broad and inclusive access to reskilling and upskilling pathways. The seminar further underlined the value of collaborative initiatives between public institutions and the private sector in building a skilled, adaptable workforce for an AI-driven economy.
