Agenda

On 19 March 2025, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP), in cooperation with the European Enterprise Alliance (EEA) and SME Connect, organised a high-level roundtable at the European Parliament under the title “Future of EU Health Policies: Balancing Demands, Resources, and Innovation.” The event was hosted by MEP Adam Jarubas and featured contributions from MEP Tomislav Sokol, alongside leading policymakers, healthcare professionals, and industry representatives, marking a timely discussion at the beginning of a new EU institutional cycle.

The debate focused on the structural and financial challenges facing healthcare systems across the EU, including the rise of chronic illnesses, demographic shifts, and mounting fiscal pressure on national health services. Discussions explored the potential of regulatory reform, enhanced cross-border collaboration, and digital solutions to strengthen healthcare delivery and optimise resource use.

Speakers called for a greater focus on data-driven health policies, stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors, and strategic investments aimed at building healthcare systems that are not only more resilient and inclusive but also adaptable to future demands. Ensuring both affordability and innovation was highlighted as key to achieving long-term sustainability in EU health policy.
